Ciao, I’m Simone. Welcome to my world of cheese! Together with my parents, we run a dairy farm in the heart of the Pollino National Park, where the green mountains and fresh air accompany every stage of production. Here in our small laboratory, we transform sheep and goat milk into traditional, authentic cheeses made just as they once were — with care, patience, and a dedication that only a few still maintain.

After completing my studies, I decided to return to my hometown to dedicate myself to the business, helping my parents and continuing a tradition that fills me with pride. My favourite part? Welcoming travellers like you and seeing the sparkle in the eyes when they taste our cheeses for the first time. If you’re a cheese lover too, I look forward to sharing this experience with you!

A day as a Shepherd

Experience an authentic day in the life of a shepherd in the mountains of Pollino National Park. Meet Simone at his family's dairy farm and begin by milking the animals and collecting the fresh milk. We'll then venture into the pastures for a walk with the flock, stopping for a simple and authentic shepherd's breakfast. Later, we'll return to the workshop to transform the milk into cheese, following traditional methods. We conclude the day with an aperitivo of cheeses and other local products — a toast to the beauty of mountain life. From the Stables to Cheese

Join Simone on a journey into the world of traditional cheesemaking — from the stable to the table. Together, you'll visit the dairy workshop, where the family produces ricotta, pecorino, goat cheese, and unique flavoured creations enriched with traditional ingredients like "peperone crusco" and truffle. You'll then pay a visit to the stable where you’ll meet the animals whose milk makes this artisanal magic possible. To finish, enjoy a tasting of delicious cheeses as you take in the beautiful fresh air from the surrounding mountainous landscape. Agromonte: Town of Riddles & Cheese

“Sacce na cosa cusella ie ffine e tanta bbella” — these little famous “coselle” are the common thread that unites generations of people from Agromonte and the surrounding Lucanian villages. Riddles and stories passed down as a precious link to the past and a living testimony to traditions and knowledge that were beginning to disappear. These playful riddles or word puzzles, test the mind and creativity of those who try to solve them. Simone invites you to join him on this tour of traditional riddles as you explore this unique heritage together. The experience will conclude with a tasting of cheeses lovingly and traditionally made by Simone's family cheese factory. An experience that celebrates history and authentic flavours.
